The project has been realized by Studio Archea Associati. It involved the renovation of an early-nineteenth-century building, spread over three floors, and situated at the beginning of the stroll that leads to Piazzale Michelangelo. Behind its doors, every room reveals a modern space, characterized by harmonious contrasts between wood and steel, warm and cold, the preciousness of the details and the simplicity of the spaces. Archea’s work focused on offering a refined hospitality, while avoiding any nostalgic excess and creating a contemporary, unconventional image of Florence.
In order to properly illuminate this extraordinary project, the Illum team has created custom-made lighting fixtures, which were specifically designed to perfectly integrate with the surrounding space.
The attention for details, the balance between the elements and the employment of custom-made lighting solutions make this space a one-of-a-kind location, where past and present harmoniously meet, offering Fornace Suite’s guests an unforgettable experience, immersed in Florence’s beauty and energy.
